The official website for Pokémon Sword and Shield has been updated with a glitched pokémon, but is it a new Pokémon Gen 8 form or something else?
The Pokemon Company has potentially unveiled a new pokémon by adding a mysterious glitch to the official Pokémon site, but is this a new pokémon or a new form for an existing one?
Our initial thought was a nostalgia trip back to the original Pokémon titles, Red and Blue, where if you completed a set of weird instructions you could make an odd glitched pokémon called MissingNo appear. The pokémon had no pokédex number or even a proper sprite, so it looked like a distorted barcode with a part missing. You could catch it, and even train it, but there was a good chance it might delete your game save file…

Mysterious new Pokémon added to the Pokeémon Sword and Shield site. It's a Fighting type with the ability Steadfast. It appears to be an evolution based on the flavour text. "Only [redacted] that have survived many battles can attain this [evolution?]." pic.twitter.com/NloNYY2Vmw

The information on the Pokémon website is sparse, as some vital info is redacted, but we do know certain things, such as the pokémon being a fighting-type and having an ability called Steadfast.
Other text reads: Only [Redacted] that have survived many battles can attain this [Redacted]. When this Pokémons [Redacted]ers, it will retire from combat.
Maybe this is Sirfetchd? A leak a few months a leak indicated that Farfetchd from the first generation of Pokémon is getting a Galar evolution. The Sir from the name suggests that this new pokémon will be a knight in some way. If we compare this with the glitched image you can see that it might be holding a lance of some kind.
Fans are also trying to puzzle out what this entails, and one, in particular, has even gone with the conclusion that the pokémon is on its side, not standing up. Which again makes Sirfetchd seem more plausible.
