FIFA 20 – Do you have what it takes to play in the street?

FIFA 20 is out soon and one of the most important new features is the addition of street football via the new VOLTA mode.

For the first time in a mainline FIFA game street football is a major focus, as you play smaller matches of up to 5 vs. 5 that are reminiscent of 2005s much-loved FIFA Street spin-off series.

Those that have played the FIFA 20 demo will have some idea of what the full game will feature but apart from adding a few extra game modes and more customisation, what other additions have made it into FIFA 20?

Here is everything you need to know about Ultimate Team, VOLTA, Career mode and the Web app.

What does FIFA 20 include?

Ultimate Team

Get ready to build your dream squad, level up by completing season objectives, and get rewarded with new customisation options. This years Ultimate Team will feature 88 iconic players, including 15 brand new names such as Zinedine Zidane, Didier Drogba, Kakά, Ian Rush, and Garrincha.

King of the Hill and Mystery Ball also both make an appearance as separate game modes, and not just in part of the kick-off game type in FIFA 19.

King of the Hill sees players showing off their skills while fighting for possession in randomly-generated zones on the pitch, to boost the amount the next goal is worth.

Mystery Ball adds unpredictability to every match by giving your opponents randomly-boosted attributes. Do you have what it takes to go up against the unknown?

Career Mode

In FIFA 20, Career mode allows players to dive deeper into the heart of your favourite club and shape its future. You now can fully customise your manager – including body type and skin tone – and you can even create female managers for the first time.

A few other additions have made it to this mode, including full interactive press conferences and player conversations. The overhauled player morale system can now affect the whole team, or select individuals stats – including performance levels and what they generally think of the manager.

What is VOLTA?

One of the biggest focuses this year is on VOLTA, which returns football to the streets. You create a team and build it over time, just like regular matches.

World Mode

The rules in VOLTA are very similar to FIFA Street 2s Rule the Street mode, where the winner takes a player from the loser. In World Mode, you play online against other players, and you have the chance of getting one of your prized players stolen – but dont worry the player is only a duplicate.

Select your turf and take the home advantage as you set your own rules within your arena and try to play to your strengths.

Diversity

EA is keen to add variety to VOLTA, which means you can use both male and female players in your squad for mixed teams.

You can also choose to play games with or without walls, forcing players to adapt their style accordingly.
