Nick Kyrgios tumbled out of the Cincinnati Masters on Wednesday night in typically volatile fashion, smashing racquets, calling the umpire a f***ing tool and appearing to spit in his direction while refusing to shake his hand at the end of the match.

The Aussie has impressed during the American hard court summer, winning the Citi Open in Washington in style and wowing crowds by tapping into his deep pool of talent, but the demons of old reared their ugly head as he went down to Russias Karen Khachanov in three sets.

His latest antics during a 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 defeat at the hands of the world No. 9 included stepping off court with two racquets in perfect working order and returning with them decimated as well as calling chair umpire Fergus Murphy a potato.

He can expect another hefty fine for his behaviour and he was fortunate to escape a game penalty, having already earned a point penalty.

🗣 "You're a f—ing tool bro!"

🗣 "One of the craziest matches you're likely to see."

The 24-year-old was rather creative in his attempts to avoid losing a game. Knowing a code violation for racquet abuse would see him punished further, he strolled off court for a with two racquets in hand, which were promptly destroyed off court in a hallway.

Totally flummoxed, umpire Murphy – who hadnt given him permission to go off court – grabbed his radio to seek advice on whether he could punish the world No. 27 for his blatant racquet abuse, despite not seeing it himself.

This isnt the first time Kyrgios has found himself clashing with Murphy.

At Queens this summer, the Aussie bad boy called the tournament supervisor on court to complain about the Irishmans officiating while claiming the hat he was wearing looked ridiculous.

BANG, BANG!! 💥💥

Nick Kyrgios absolutely DESTROYED two racquets and the commentators lost it 😂 😂
