PS4 fans and the internet lose their minds over these hidden PlayStation tips (Pic: Daily Star)
The PlayStation 4 is the fourth of the home consoles from Sony. It released near the end of 2013, which makes it close to six years old, and it's sold over 90 million units so far, which is an awful lot.
Lots of things have happened since then. We've seen the release of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, we've had two different Spider-Men, a nigh on infinite number of games, and so many rubbish summers and crazy winters that climate change is a dead cert, which is funny, because it won't be long before we're all certainly dead.
Despite all of this, people are still finding new features for the console. We say new, some are old, but apparently, no-one knew they existed.
In fact, things kicked off a bit this week thanks to a post on Reddit by RockyBalbubba.
The thread has ended up being a fairly good collection of hidden tips, tricks, and easter eggs for the console, so we thought we'd collect together some of the excellent little nuggets of wisdom for your reading pleasure.
People say you should try and learn something new each and every day, these are the same people who think that people can be 'better' and that we shouldn't all be stagnating into a puddle of nihilism and self-loathing, so you can decide how you feel about them later.
Anyway, read on for some top tier tips.
It's talking to you, that's kind of creepy (Pic: Daily Star)
Revealing Hidden Trophies
Let's start off with the post that started it all, the one that RockyBalbubba posted that freaked out a whole generation of people. It turns out that you can reveal hidden trophies by pushing the square button while you've got them selected. This is useful if you're trying to avoid seeing spoilers, but really want to know what you need to do. Of course, some of these can still be spoilers, so do be careful.
Searching For Trophies
This one is from Dark_Pump. It turns out that's not all you can do though. If you want to find out how to earn a tricky trophy, you can actually hit the options button while it is selected and select 'search internet' which will take you to a web page that has guides for that trophy. Again, spoilers, but you've already come this far so…
Your Controller Is Talking To You
I mean, it does in some games anyway, but it turns out that's not all. When charging your controller it actually pulses, well, the pulses actually slow down the closer the controller gets to being fully charged. It's a good way to keep an eye on it and a nice little feature.
