Emotional Rafael Nadal lauds favourite sportsman Tiger Woods after latest Masters triumph

Rafael Nadal has heaped praise on Tiger Woods after the American won The Masters for the fifth time in his career on Sunday.

The 43-year-old has battled personal problems and persistent injuries over the last 10 years.

Despite his issues, he triumphed ahead of Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka to claim his fifth green jacket at Augusta.

It was his first Major win since 2008, and there were fears he would never win another tournament again at one stage.

However, the 15-time Major winner battled back over the last 12 months to claim success and Nadal admitted his latest win made him “very emotional”.

It is amazing. He is probably my favourite sportsman in the world since a long time ago Nadal said. I am a big fan of him.



It has been tough years for him and I cant be more happy about the victory of yesterday.

You imagine all the process and the hard work he had to do to be back on a golf course. It is so difficult, all the things that he did.
