Jurgen Klopp has stated Liverpool will not be signing a new central defender in January.
The Reds have some notable injury problems in defence, with both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez currently sidelined with injury.
This has left the Merseyside club with just two fit first-team central defenders to choose from, Virgil Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren.
However, despite the limited options, the Liverpool boss insists he will not be tempted in signing a new addition in the current transfer window.
We will see what we do, Klopp said. But we cannot, we will not sign a centre-half for one game or whatever, that will not happen.
Joe and Joel look good – obviously not good enough for Monday, not good enough I would say for the game after that, for Brighton, [but] hopefully then they are at least in full team training.

I think for Joel it would be possible, for Joe at least theres a little hope that it can be the same, so we will see. Joe had a good day, a very good day [on Friday], so thats good.
Liverpools next game is against Wolves on Monday night in the FA Cup.
