With the visit of Diego Simeones men in mind, Arsene Wenger, who on Friday confirmed he will stand down at the end of the season, opted to drop club-record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the bench.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker has been in superb form since his January move but is ineligible for European competition and Wenger has therefore opted to start with Alexandre Lacazette in a central position.
David Ospina starts in goal in place of Petr Cech, who has a hip problem, while ankle injuries rule out both Jack Wilshere and Sead Kolasinac.
