Arsene Wenger's long goodbye began in style when Arsenal eventually threw off the shackles to claim a 4-1 victory over West Ham thanks to goals from Nacho Monreal, Aaron Ramsey and a double from Alexandre Lacazette. However, for all their potency going forward, the Gunners remain decidedly porous at the back and were repeatedly undone by the long ball, something the managers replacement will have to address as a matter of urgency.

Another weekend of Premier League action over and this is what lessons have been gleaned from the action.

In Arsene Wenger's first game in charge of Arsenalsince he announced he was off, the club thumped West Ham 4-1, but there are still a few issues for the Frenchman's successor to address.


Manchester City, meanwhile, may be Premier League champions, but their players are not letting up.

And what about West Brom under Darren Moore? They've been flying in their three games since he took over on a caretaker basis from Alan Pardew.
