Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has confirmed he wants to re-sign Chelsea star Kenedy, but admits it will be tough after his recent performances.
The 22-year-old Brazilian finally moved to St James Park on loan in January after protracted negotiations and has added much-needed spark to the Magpies attack.
His creativity and skill on the left flank has given Benitezs flat-footed offense a livelier tone and pushed them up to Premier League safety, despite them only scoring 35 times this campaign.
Its no wonder Benitez wants to keep hold of the player after two goals and two assists in just nine appearances, while he already averages more shots per game than any other Toon star.
But his form hasnt gone unnoticed with Bayern Munich among his reported suitors.
And, reported by the Daily Mail, Benitez conceded it may be tough to retain him but a loan deal would be their best chance to do so.
“I am happy because we've been winning and he's been scoring goals and that's fantastic for us and really good news for him," he said.
“The situation is that Chelsea need to know where they will finish and we need to know where we will finish. There is plenty of time to talk.
“But if you're asking me (if loan is perhaps best option), I'd say yes, you'd have to ask them as well.
“It wasn't easy to bring him here and it won't be easy to bring him here again."
On other clubs being interested Benitez added: 'You can't change that. If you want to win games and he's doing well you have to play him, if he's doing even better than fine, fair enough.
“It will be more difficult for us, for sure, but he's so happy he'll be keen to stay.”
