Rockstar is allegedly planning to stop selling GTA V and… replace it with a Premium Edition that includes at least £25 of free DLC.
Although you’d barely imagine there’s anyone in the world left that doesn’t own a copy, considering it’s sold over 90 million units in less than five years, there’s growing evidence that Rockstar are about to release a new version of Grand Theft Auto V.
A ‘Premium Edition’ has been rumoured for a while now, with mentions of the release popping up everywhere from the South Korean ratings board to Amazon Germany.
It originally seemed to be planned for March 23, but according to Kotaku it’s now been put back to sometime in April.
The bad news is that the Premium Edition doesn’t seem to contain anything that’s actually new, just a ton of DLC that’s been released over the course of the last few years.
This includes the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack, which was launched at Christmas for £24.99 and contains the following:
Properties: Maze Bank West Executive Office, Paleto Forest Gunrunning Bunker, Senora Desert Counterfeit Cash Factory, Great Chaparral Biker Clubhouse, 1561 San Vitas Street Apartment, 1337 Exceptionalists Way 10 Car Garage
Vehicles: Dune FAV, Maibatsu Frogger, Enus Windsor, Obey Omnis, Coquette Classic, Turismo R, Pegassi Vortex, Huntley S, Western Zombie Chopper, Banshee
Weapons, Clothing & Tattoos: Compact Grenade Launcher, Marksman Rifle, Compact Rifle, Stunt Race & Import/Export Outfits, Biker Tattoos
Reportedly, the Premium Edition will replace the standard edition in the future – so look for retailers selling it off cheap in order to clear their stock.
The price of the Premium Edition isn’t clearly, but it’s likely to be full price or close to it.
