Manchester United on alert: Inter Milan admit Red Devils target Joao Mario is unhappy at club

Joao Mario has 'issues' over his lack of game time at Inter Milan

Inter Milan are reluctant to sell Manchester United target Joao Mario, but have admitted the player's unhappiness at a lack of playing time.

The 24-year-old has been limited to just 11 appearances in Serie A this season and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Reports have emerged that United are considering a straight swap deal, allowing the out-of-favour Henrikh Mkhitaryan to join the San Siro club with Mario arriving in the opposite direction.

But Inter director Walter Sabatini has insisted the club are reluctant to part with the Portugal international.

"Joao has some issues with the lack of playing time," Sabatini told Sky Italia.

"We don't want to lose him. He is our player and we want to keep him."
