Besiktas star Cenk Tosun has admitted his relief at not joining Crystal Palace during the summer.
The Turkey international has been in blistering form for the Turkish giants so far this season, netting ten goals in all competitions.
This has led to speculation linking him with a big-money move to England, with Tottenham and Liverpool reportedly keeping close tabs on him.
However, after coming close to joining Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace in the summer, Tosun told Turkish-Football that was relieved to have stayed put.
"Crazy numbers are being quoted for my transfer fee right now," Tosun said.
"Of course it makes me proud especially after my near escape with Crystal Palace.
"I wanted to join them at the time but in retrospect staying here turned out to be the right move."
