Soccer | Khune: Chiefs are one family

Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says the club are unified together as a family unit and that the players are determined to win a trophy to honour late goalkeeper coach, Alex Revoredo.

As a part of their commitment to being as one and paying tribute to the late Revoredo, the team wear a shirt just before every match when entering the playing arena bearing the words, 'One Team, One Family, One Voice, One Nation, One Africa.'

As such, Khune takes the view that it is an appropriate gesture and he expressed how determined the Glamour Boys are to win silverware in 2017/18.

He told Chiefs' official website, "It means that we, as players, technical team, office staff and supporters are united going forward. We are one Family. The theme is about continuing to stick together on this journey and to stay steadfast.

"As a team, we also signed a contract to play every game in remembrance of Alex Revoredo, our former goalkeeper coach, who sadly passed away recently. It’s about giving back to him, as he gave so much to us – we want to win a trophy for Alex. We owe it to him.

"We are one family, holding each other’s hand. We go forward together as one strong unit."
