Of all the summer signings made by Premier League clubs, the arrival of Richarlison at Watford was undoubtedly the most surprising. A player previously linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, but who was considered not that great by South American football expert Tim Vickery, ended up at Vicarage Road as part of Marco Silva’s new-look side. But, despite all the doubts, Richarlison has taken the Premier League by storm. He’s scored four goals and created a further two, and has been putting in performances well beyond his 20 years. If he continues like this, Watford will have a fight on their hands to keep hold of Richarlison next summer.

We are at the stage of the Premier League season when it can be assessed whether a player is putting in good performances or is struggling for form.

After 11 matches some truly superb players are performing right at the top of their game; Kevin De Bruyne is once again being called a world class midfielder, while Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Alvaro Morata and Sergio Aguero have all been banging the goals in.

However, these players are the ones expected to perform brilliantly.

But what about the so-called 'lesser' players who are proving the doubters wrong and putting in some of the best showings of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign?
