What’s better than a Toblerone bar?

A really cheap Toblerone bar, of course.

And now, your wishes have been granted as Poundland have launched a £1 chocolate bar, Twin Peaks, in the style of Toblerone.

The differences? Well, the budget version has a double peak instead of a single one.

And that’s not all – Poundland sells 150g of Toblerone for a quid.

Although Twin Peaks is the same price, it offers 180g for a ‘distinctly British flavour’.

More choc for the same price? We’re in.

It’s not the first time Poundland have come to the aid of many a dilemma – it sold a range of £1 sex toys and natural ‘Viagra’ and heiress Tamara Ecclestone even recently revealed she shops there.

But it’s been a rocky road to get there.

The launch has been delayed for several months as Mondelez, the creators of Toblerone, have been embroiled in a dispute with the bargain shop.

They claimed that Poundland’s copycat bar was ‘confusingly similar’ to their Swiss bar.

But because Poundland changed their shape last year, Poundland lawyers have argued that the shape can’t be trademarked.

Now, Poundland have been allowed to sell 500,000 of the bars before it’s due to be redesigned in January.

The £1 bar will go on sale from next Monday in 850 stores across the UK.

Toblerone has been surprisingly controversial for a chocolate bar. The much-loved treats reduced their weight last year much to the chagrin of fans.

The 400g bars went down to 170g and 170g went down to 150g although the price remained the same.

A spokesman for Mondelez said: ‘Poundland is an important and valued customer of Mondelez so we are glad that we have reached a solution for their Twin Peaks bar that is clearly different from Toblerone.’

We’re in.
