Paris opens reservations at its first naked restaurant

Remember the buzz around that London restaurant which offered you the chance to eat raw food with your bits out on display?

It got booked up pretty speedily, despite our warning that the chairs were all wooden stools and guests could be risking some seriously painful splinters.

Its popularity has inspired Paris to dive into the naked dining game, too.

Paris has just opened its first naked restaurant, called O’naturel.

Things kicked off with a private dinner for the Paris naturist society on Thursday and after that all went swimmingly, O’naturel has opened its doors to the naked public.

The concepts pretty simple. The restaurant sits just 40 guests and offers fairly standard French dining – think foie gras, steak, and fish rather than the Bunyadi’s raw veggie fare. There are vegan options if you’re keen.

There’s plenty of posh wine available too, in case you need some liquid courage to strip off.

Guests enter and are directed to a cloakroom, where they can leave their clothes, then they can sit down and get ordering and eating… naked.

Unlike the Bunyadi, individual tables aren’t curtained off for privacy. The layout is that of a normal restaurant, with tables for two placed closely next to one another.

So yes, you likely would see other guests’ naked bodies, and they would see yours. What an intimate dining experience.

More: Food

‘We propose you to taste a bistronomic and refined cuisine in a sober and friendly environment,’ says the restaurant, offering the ‘pleasure of dining naked all year […] in the respect of naturist values.’

‘Whether you are already a naturist or want to try you will be delighted to experience this.’

If you fancy giving the naked dining thing a go, you can book a table at O’naturel now.

Or dip your toe in the nudity waters by stripping off before you eat your jacket potato on the sofa tonight. See how you feel and go from there.
