Sergio Aguero has been hailed as ‘consistently incredible’ after finally breaking Manchester City’s goalscoring record.
The Argentine striker cememted his place in the club's history books by scoring his 178th City goal in Wednesday's brilliant 4-2 victory over Napoli, which booked their place in the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
His strike against the Italian club saw him pass City legend Eric Brook’s record of 177 goals, which has stood since 1939, and enhances his legendary status at the club.
Not only has Aguero proven himself as Man City's best-ever striker, he is also become one of the Premier League's best ever foreign players since joining the Blues from Atletico Madrid for £38million in 2011.
And Pearce insists, at still only 29-year-old, he is nowhere near finished yet.
“To break records that have stood for 80-odds years, that takes some doing in the modern game,” the former Man City defender and manager told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
“Sergio Ageuro has been consistently incredible for Manchester City.
“There’s been the odd question mark about him, he lost form some months ago and then everyone was questioning, does he have a future, can play with Jesus or not, is his time up?
“But he’s answered all those questions and has come back stronger, so that’s the mark of him.
“He’s only 29 years old, too, so he’ll be around for a lot longer.”
