Atletico Madrid have insisted that Manchester City and Arsenal target Sime Vrsaljko is not for sale following an enquiry from Napoli.

As talkSPORT told you this week, the Italian club made contract with Atletico about a potential January move for their out-of-favour left-back.

Vrsaljko has made just three appearances in La Liga so far this season leading to questions about his long-term future with Arsenal and City also interested.

Napoli need cover for the injured Faouzi Ghoulam which had led them to Vrsaljko, a man with experience of Italian football following spells at Sassuolo and Genoa.

It has been reported that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis personally called the Spanish club to gauge whether or not a deal could be done.

But, according to Sky Sports Italia, he was told in no uncertain terms that Croatia international Vrsaljko will not be available when the window opens despite his lack of game time this season.
