Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez reportedly wants Manchester United move
Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez would be keen to join Manchester United next summer, according to reports.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of Diego Simeone’s key players at Atletico Madrid since making his debut five years ago.
Mourinho is keen to bolster his options in midfield and attack, although it has been suggested that the United boss must sell before buying ahead of the January transfer window.
The Sun claims that Mourinho is a ‘long-time admirer’ of Niguez and is considering a move for the Spain international.
The report also claims that the midfielder would be open to joining United if a deal can be agreed.
But United’s major hurdle is being able to settle on a transfer fee with Atletico.
Niguez signed a nine-year contract with Atletico in July and his new deal includes a €150 million (£133m) release clause.
