United have been tracking the France international for some time and reportedly came close to landing him during the summer.
However he stayed put at Atletico Madrid and signed a new deal which temporarily bumped his minimum fee release clause up to around £175m.
He has since suffered a disappointing start to the campaign, scoring just twice in Atletico Madrid's first nine games.
And now AS reports that officials at the La Liga club are growing 'increasingly frustrated' with Griezmann's form.
His release clause will reduce when the window opens and he has been linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, while United remain very keen on landing him.
Diego Costa is set to arrive at Madrid in January and it has been suggested that the Rojiblancos may be open to selling Griezmann when the window opens if his form does not improve.
