Wolverhampton Wanderers have begun strengthening their squad ahead of a return to the Premier League by signing Benfica forward Raul Jimenez.
The 27-year-old Mexico international will move to Molineux on a season-long loan subject to him obtaining a work permit and international clearance, the club confirmed.
Jimenez, who has scored 14 goals in 62 international appearances, is part of Mexicos World Cup squad in Russia.
He scored 31 times in 120 appearances for Benfica, averaging a goal or assist every 75 minutes in last seasons Primeira Liga-winning campaign.
Jimenez previously played for boyhood side Club America before moving to Atletico Madrid for the 2014-15 season.
The combative frontman also won gold whilst representing his country at the London 2012 Olympics, and will wear the No.9 shirt at the World Cup in Russia this summer, where he is expected to play a part in group stage fixtures against Germany, South Korea and Sweden.
Wolves will be hoping to add further reinforcements to their ranks after returning to the Premier League for the first time in six years.
Nuno Espirito Santos men finished as winners of the Championship last season, seeing off all other rivals at a canter.
