Mino Raiola has offered Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti to Manchester United after dispiriting talks with the French sides new boss Thomas Tuchel, according to reports.
The Italian is one of the highest rated playmakers in Europe and had been expected to play a key role under Tuchel, with the German meeting with his player to discuss his role next season.
However, Italian outlet Calciomercato report that Tuchels meeting did not go entirely to plan after Verratti was instructed to lose weight by his meticulous manager.
Tuchel is a perfectionist when it comes to nutrition and diet, and – though he wants Verratti to have a key role – does not believe the Italian is in the best possible shape.
That has seen Verrattis agent, the notorious Raiola, reach out to a number of European giants about a summer switch, with United notably among them.
Barcelona have already said no, while Real Madrid and Juventus are not ready to make a move at this time, but United are considering an offer.
Jose Mourinho has a good relationship with Raiola and has signed a number of his clients since moving to Old Trafford, with Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku both represented by Raiola.
Verratti has jetted off on holiday to Ibiza for the next week and will talk more with Raiola about his future when he returns.
The Italian missed much of the finale of the season with a hamstring injury, limiting him to just 20 starts, while United have already snapped up a midfielder in the form of £52m man Fred.
