Manchester United transfer news: Club want Leonardo Bonucci but will have to fight Bayern Munich for defender
Leonardo Bonucci could leave Milan just a year after joining

The 31-year-old joined only joined the Italian side in 2017 when Juventus let him leave in a shock £35million transfer. He was one of many arrivals in a huge summer of investment, which also saw Andre Silva (from Porto, £33.5m), Ricardo Rodriguez (from Wolfsburg, £13.2m) and Hakan Calhanoglu (from Bayer Leverkusen, £22m) arrive.
However, after missing out on qualification for the Champions League, Milan are in a position where they have to let some of their biggest assets leave in order to comply with FFP regulations.
Before moving to San Siro, Bonucci was the subject of interest from both Chelsea and Manchester City and the London side would still be interested, though it is thought the player wants to play in Europe's premier competition again.
United boss Jose Mourinho has contacted the Italy international, but the club will face competition from Bayern — with Milan willing to agree to a loan deal with an obligation to buy for around £35m, report The Sun.
