Claude Puel sends message to Manchester United over Harry Maguire transfer interest
Maguire, 25, joined the Foxes for a fee of £17million last summer and has impressed at the King Power Stadium this season, making 37 appearances in all competitions.
The defender made his senior debut for England back in October as Gareth Southgates men defeated Lithuania in World Cup qualifying.
Maguires accomplished performances this term have caught the eye of the Premier Leagues elite and reports suggest both Manchester City and United are interested in signing the centre-back.
However, the Foxes are ready to fend off the advances of City and United as Puel is desperate to keep hold of Maguire.
He is a valuable player and I want to build my team around him. It is just speculation, Puel said.
He needs to continue to improve but he is an important player for us, an international player.
Asked if this means Leicester will avoid selling Maguire, Puel replied: Of course.
Its understood that United are lining up a £35million move for the England international in the summer transfer window.
Some reports claim that Maguire is at the top of Jose Mourinhos wishlist, with the Portuguese determined to bring in defensive reinforcements ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
