Warframe UPDATE: Shrine of the Eidolon Release Date, PC 22.12.0 patch notes news
Warframe fans are gearing up for the release of the new Shrine of the Eidolon update along with the release of plenty of new features, like the end of Companion PermaDeath.
The big new feature though, is the introduction of the games new Eidolons "mysterious titans that continue to wander the Plains and loom over the people of Cetus," explains the dev team in a recent blogpost.
"Most of you have seen the Teralyst, a beast that rises from the watery depths every night. Legends speak of two more Eidolons that fell to the Plains, dormant for centuries but ever present in the hearts and minds of the Ostrons."
"Eidolon Hunters eager to prove their worth are trying to summon these creatures again. Are you worthy, Tenno?"
As mentioned, the Warframe: Shrine of the Eidolon DLC update is coming today, but there isn't a set time just yet for when Digital Extreme's will release this new patch.
Speaking last night though, it was mentioned by the team that there might be a slight delay to the release, so the devs could ensure they have "more folks around to monitor for fires during work hours."
"We have things in a pretty good spot, but because it's a Mainline (aka a lot of dev work) we just want to run some more tests."
It shouldn't be long now though, and in the meantime whilst we wait for the new patch notes as well, you can check out everything new coming with this new update just below:
Warframe Shrine of the Eidolon – UPDATE
It began with the Old War. It returns this week.
SHRINE OF THE EIDOLON NEW FEATURES
Legends say the Gantulyst wields an enormous boulder for an arm and radiates powerful beams of Sentient energy. The Ostrons built a shrine in its honor hoping to gain its favour.
The Ostrons believe the Hydrolyst is an omen of impending natural disaster. Stories describe a distinct, pungent aroma that precedes the arrival of this toxic beast.
If you’re worthy, you’ll receive Riven Transmuters from the new Eidolons. These consumable items can transmute four Riven Mods into a brand-new Riven. Combining four Rivens of the same type (i.e Rifle, Melee, Shotgun, etc.) will result in a transmuted Riven of that type.
DRIVE THE DARGYN
Take your fight to the skies by hijacking any Dargyn in the Plains. Use these to aid in your search for the new Eidolons.
WARFRAME POWER & WEAPON CHANGES
In case you missed it – we’re doing some Warframe and Weapon rebalancing! Check out our Dev Workshop to get a deep dive into what we've changed and why.
In a tweet posted last night, the team also revealed a few additional changes coming to the game.
Although, we're likely to learn more when those new patch notes arrive as well.
"This Update also has some other long-requested things," explained Digital Extreme's Live Ops and Community Director Rebecca Ford.
"Added a completely new flow for Companion Incubator Management. Pets can no longer die! The base Incubator now behaves exactly as the Nutrio Incubator does with auto-stasis, and those with the Nutrio Incubator receive a significant discount on future DNA Stabilizer costs (from 75,000 to 5,000)!
"We also are including the Warframe + Weapon changes in this Update, so get your Arsenals ready and don't forget to read out Dev Workshops!"
More recently Ford was also interviewed by IGN, who asked if the team planned to address any of the issues from the Eidolon launch a few months back.
"Oh, there are lots. We’re never really done. The Plains of Eidolon, as we have been told by players and press, could have been a little… friendlier… to first-time players.
"We heard his feedback and it was fair and noted, and we addressed it in several ways. People wanted more of everything, really."
