Johanna Konta and Heather Watson guided Great Britain to the Fed Cup World Group II play-offs in April after a win over Hungary in Tallinn.
After beating Estonia and Portugal to progress from Group B on Friday, the Brits took on the winners of Group C on Saturday, with Konta and Watson – both unbeaten this week – securing the vital wins for Anne Keothavong’s side.
Watson beat Dalma Galfi 3-6 6-1 6-4 before British No. 1 Konta eased past Fanny Stollar 6-3 6-1 to confirm Britain’s spot in April’s play-off tie.
Should they win their tie in April, they will return to World Group elite level for the first time since 1993.
Potential World Group II play-off opponents
Keothavong’s outfit reached the same stage last year only to be beaten by Romania in what was a dramatic encounter, where Romanian captain Ilie Nastase’s behaviour overshadowed events on the court, while there were similar defeats in 2012 and 2013.
In their fourth appearance at this stage in the last seven years, Britain will face one of the losing teams from this weekend’s World Group II first-round ties.
